Focus Without Force
Not Broken, Just Wired Differently
After several years of writing, revising and refining, I am delighted to be preparing Focus Without Force for publication. This book brings together the ideas, insights and approaches that have shaped my work supporting people with attention difficulties, overwhelm and emotional wellbeing.
The book explores a gentler, more compassionate approach to attention, overwhelm, emotional wellbeing and sustainable change. Rather than asking people to push harder, be more disciplined or simply try harder, it explores what becomes possible when we work with ourselves rather than against ourselves.

Story about worry
Sir Barkington and the Worry Woof is a softly illustrated children’s book designed to help little ones understand and name their worry without shame.
Told through warmth and gentle rhythm, the story encourages children to see worry not as something to fight, but as something to notice, understand and soften.
It is especially supportive at bedtime, when anxious thoughts often grow louder.
Why I Wrote This Book
In my work as an ADHD coach, I regularly meet adults who were never taught how to sit safely with big feelings.
Many describe growing up feeling “too sensitive” or “too much” without ever being given language for what was happening in their bodies.
Sir Barkington and the Worry Woof was written to gently change that story.
Emotional literacy begins in childhood.
And it changes lives in adulthood.
